[VIDEO] Tips to Write a Better Bio - Between 2 Speakers
Most bios are boring. Yours doesn’t have to be.
Welcome to Between 2 Speakers! My business partner Randy and I collaborate often, so we thought we’d share some of our best tips here, in video format.
Our first episode tackles a topic we’re both passionate about: Your Bio. You know, that thing you have to write for your “about” page, or, if you’re speaking, it’s the intro someone else reads to the audience before you present.
We hate boring bios. Watch this 10-minute video to see how to make yours not boring.
3 of our 5 Take-aways:
Plan for your audience. Are you writing for your would-be listener or reader, or is this a list of credits that would impress the hell out of your mom?
Not necessarily “all business.” Randy had a client whose travels enhanced his on-the-job knowledge, and that mattered to his clients. That went in the bio.
Speaking? Keep it short. No one likes to wait through a long list of credits before the speaker actually steps out to speak. Keep it short and sweet. Which parts of your bio are meaningful to your audience?
Writing your bio is an opportunity to tell your story and demonstrate your value - so let it shine.
Need some help writing your bio? We can help! Among Randy’s other talents, he’s a professional bio-writer.
Get in touch - we’d love to work with you!
